Im 17 and i found a 1991 ford escort Gt and my step dad is a mechanic and he and his boss found the car and so he fixed up the car and wants to sell me the car for 350.00 which is a good price because he put all new everything on the car and it runs good just my dad hates fords and i want to know if this is the right choice for me.
A: OK, your step dad isn’t selling you that car. He’s giving it to you, with a nominal payment as an encouragement for you to care for the car and understand the value of money. 1) You’ll almost surely never get such a great price on a (probably lovingly refurbished) car again in your life, and 2) This isn’t just a gift car, it’s a bonding event with your step dad.
Be smart; take the car and thank the man for caring about you! If the car only lives another six months, it’ll be well worth it and “the right choice” for you.

Re-reading your Question, I’ve realized you might be worried about this car coming between you and your actual dad. Only you can make that determination. IMO, the argument that “the price was just too right” might defuse that problem.

I’m thinking a 2000 Ford taurus wagon with almost 132K on it. There’s something wrong with the lock system, but other than that, it’s fine. If any of you have a Ford around that age and with a lot of miles on it, tell me.
A: 1986 5.0L Thunderbird with 225,000 miles…….retired from service running….destined for the drag strip with it’s new Boss 351 Cleveland. Old Fords never die, they just get hot-rodded.

I drive a ‘97 Ford T-bird with 108,877 miles on it,A/C cold as alaska,original motor and trans. I have no major problems with my car,I drive 37 miles round trip to and from work everyday,so it’s my daily driver. I work in an Acura dealership fixing Acuras. Mostly transmissions on TL’s and MDX. If Fords suck, why am I able to drive to work everyday to go fix Acuras that are broken? And no because I’m a mechanic doesn’t mean I fix my car. I haven’t touched my car other than change the oil regularly.

Ford body shops will have all the CORRECT parts and the MATCHING paint for all Ford vehicles…it will be all OEM stuff, not reproduction or knock off parts and paint. Their auto body repair personnel are just as qualified as the tech’s in an independent body shop. I would think you’re safe going to your dealer and having the work done there.
Q: My use of the word dago was the name of a certain kind of front axle for older Ford cars?
I needed to know the way to spell it not to be told it was derogatory or anything like that. It was a descriptive name of a axle that had been modified to lower the front of old cars with a I beam axle.

A: Ford’s sales went up 20% on account of the C4C program. They are selling better than Chevy, but not Honda.

Not only do you see more Fords on the road, but they are coming out with some new models that are getting positive reviews. Sometimes people / companies will not change until they have to.
Saw an ad last week where Ford Focus hybrid vehicle has the best gas mileage – even beats the Toyota Pruis. And Consumer Reports has been giving the Focus good reviews for years.
The problem Detroit has is that for years they focused on volume – not quality. Americans now think Japanese made means higher quality. While in China, American cars are preferred over Japanese models. Strange isn’t it?
