I just recently got a used gt convertible mustang and i opened the trunk and the trunk liner fell down exposing the convertible top motor and other parts. The plastic pins that were suppose to hold the liner up are bent and bad. I need to get them replaces but i cant figure out what they are called. Can anyone help?

I no longer have that POS mustang, I traded it for a high mileage 1993 Honda Del Sol Si D16Z6. I have had it for a year and haven’t had any serious problems like I constantly did with the Mustang over the several years I owned it. I am wondering if a 5.7L 350/351 c.i. V8 motor will drop in relatively easily that is all. If I ever got another mustang I would HAVE to have a 5-speed or 4-speed manual transmission and it would have to be a 350 or larger. I can’t stand the stupid engines they have in them now, I don’t even like the sound of them. I want it carbureted also…

I have an 04 mustang mach 1. It came with Goodyear Eagle’s 245/45 ZR17 sized tires. I am going to buy a different brand tire and I want a wider tire in the rear. How wide can I go without having to do any modifications or worrie about rubbing?
A: Do you want a wider tire for looks or for performance? I wouldn’t mess with it too much. Number one someone was paid a bunch of money to figure what size tire to put on there. Number two Mustang rear axles move around a lot and big tires tend to rub. That is why Mustangs look like they sit so high. One size up would be 255/40/17. I think you’ll notice the biggest difference by switching to a different model of tire. I think the Mach 1’s came with Goodyear Gatorbacks which is an outdated tire. That tire came out over 20 years ago. Check tirerack.com out for sizes and opinions.
Q: What is the difference between a ‘64 1/2 Mustang and a ‘65 Mustang, also where can I get parts?

You don’t say which transmission you have, either a C6 or even a C4 automatic, the 4 speed top loader or the 3 speed. There are plenty of parts available for the excellent Ford 4 speed as it was an excellent transmission, equal to the best of the era. I have included two sites for the automatics. the last is for a top loader.
I only hope you don’t have the 170 ci 6 cylinder. This engine was not only a dog but had 4 main bearings and was prone to early failure. The 200 inch 6, in contrast, was a great engine and very smooth. If you have a V8, so much the better.

I have a 2000 ford mustang and i would like to paint the “MUSTANG” letters on the back black. Does anyone know about how much this would cost?
A: Go to your local air brush supply store or automotive paint supply store. Ask them for a referral or look at the business cards on the wall. But I would recommend checking out vinyl letters/custom wrap. They’re getting pretty creative and installation is easy. Check them out on ebay or goto zoosigns.com It’s a lot better to keep the factory paint on your car is long as possible. Plus you can remove them if you ever sell it.
Q: does anyone know where to put the battery in the arttech mustang p51 so it balances properly?
i recently bought a mustang. ive tried balancing it with the battery in using the compartment on the top just in fron of the cockpit. its way too nose heavy using the proper compartment and i was wondering if any1 had the same problem and how they resolved it. im really keen to get this in the air so any help would be massivly appreciated.

A: Not familliar with that paticular aircraft. Check manufacturers service manual or parts catalog. Weigh the aircraft so that the weight and ballance is within limits use ballast if necessary it is not uncommon to put lead weights at one end of the aircraft as ballast.
Q: How to hook up a Vacuum canister on a 1971 ford mustang?
How do you hook it up, do you hook it up by having one hose going to the vacuum on the engine block and one hose going to the carb? Is it worth putting on the 302ci mustang, like would it help with the 1/4 mile times?
A: what vacuum canister do you mean, the Power brake or distributor? the latter will make a difference in gas mileage, but not so much at the drags if the dist. is set up right…
I see no reason for a auxillary canister at the drags, they are used for vacuum run accessories, and would be needed for power brakes if road racing..
Q: How will my new Mustang handle in snow?
I just bought a new 2010 Mustang GT. It’s been several years since I’ve owned a sports car, but they used to do terrible on snowy roads. My Mustang has a new feature called traction control, which is on all the time unless you turn it off. I was wondering if anyone out there has a new Mustang, and if so, how does it handle on snow? We just got a snow storm here and I haven’t left the house. Help!

A: 1991,92 FOX body, they last forever, are relatively inexpensive and easy to work on. 1990 GT convertible with 249,000 mile and still love it.

Mustang previously had a 351 Cleveland with a 3 speed automatic. How hard would it be to do an engine swap?
A: not hard at all just change engine mounts 350 will have slightly taller mounts and sets engine back torward firewall just a little. so the rear of engines are in same location.

I have a 2000 Mustang. I want to put seat covers on it, but can’t because of the seatbelt knobby things. Does anyone know how to get them off, besides breaking them off?
A: They just pull straight off but yes, there are times you actually wind up breaking them trying to get them off. Usually a scredriver prying behind has helped in the past but no guarantees
