im thinking of buying a 2002 pontiac convertible trans am 5.7 v8 …will this car beat the ford mustang?
A: structuraly the convertible is the weakest platform to start with on either car. The TA will take the stang on the the straight line but like said earlier it wont even come close on a road course. The mustang also has way more aftermarket support and responds much better to them.

A: no chance. the body styles are completely different. just look at your car from the front and look at the bumper. the 99 mustang is just too small to fit the 05 bumper. sorry. depending on how much the person is selling you the bumper for, you may be able to just buy an aftermarket bumper for the same price.

I have a 2001 ford mustang with a V6 3.9 liter in it, i already have a cool/cold air intake on it. i was wondering if it is possible to have a supercharger and a turbo on it as well as my cool/cold air intake.
A: It can be done.
The question is why?
I’m not a big fan of the Essex V6 to begin with, but there are many who have managed to supercharge or turbocharge the 3.8,3.9, or 4.2 variants with good results. (3.9 was 2004 Mustang or Windstar. 4.2 was F-150) And let’s not forget the Thunderbird Super Coupe that came from the factory with an “upside down” roots type blower that allowed it to be intercooled.
To supercharge AND turbocharge your V6 would require a LOT of fabrication and engine management work. Then there’s the question of whether or not it could actually hold up.
I’ve seen a lot of earlier 3.8 Tauruses (Tauri?) and N/A T-bird/Cougars with blown head gaskets and cracked heads. I still wonder how it could ever hold up to any boost.

If that is the case, you can special order one at a dealership or a tire store, if you want new. I have had good luck going to local junkyards and asking for one. They tend to have a whole bunch of them with little demand. You might get one for only 5 or 10 bucks, depending on where it is you live.

A: Home depot . 3.5 inch pvc pipe, K@N filter, and silver paint. It will be louder than anything costing 10X as much. Don’t expect HP gains from intake on an N/A car, any of them. Maybe 1-2.

A: head unit? honestly, u can just cut and mend the wires together with barrel adapters. Or get an adapter made by metra or scosche from amazon or crutchfield. they make adapter plug ins so you just plug it in to the factory harness. simple one two step. much neater.

A: to answer your question yes it will bolt up…. but you’ll have to change intake and exhaust manifolds and other parts from your engine. takes some time but if your a wrench head have fun ! I once took a 3.0 out of a fwd Taurus and put it in a Rwd Aerostar van.

A: What state?, How long have you had your license? I assume its an 8 cylinder. I’m in NC and our rates are a little more than most places but progressive.com said a 1990 Mustang with liability and basic collision would be around 150 a month for someone your age. That was using my social and credit info along with my cities specific zip code. I also assumed a $250 dollar deductible and 50,000 in body injury. Mustangs are usually bad but the older the car the better.
