Q: Street Racing?
So heres my question and its about street racing. How far does the rabbit borough go? Why do people street race without the consent of themselves knowing how to drive good? Most street racers crash because they don't know how to control their car which then comes in the art of drifting. Simply I'm getting some sort of car either japanese or a german made 2000 bmw m3. Still I plan to go on the track. As well how much can a fine for street racing go for in SoCal and how long do they impound your car for? As well considering I know people street race on desert highways late at night and on desolate canyon roads, mountain passes, etc.

A: Too many people, innocent and not-so-innocent bystanders are killed by street racers. If it were only the drivers, I wouldn't give a flying pig-poop, but when other people die, that is too much. If these drivers aren't smart enough to find a track, and in some cities they can actually enlist the help of the police in this endevour, then they are too stupid to be allowed to drive anywhere, anytime. A lot os street racing is done on main drags in cities, not on secondary highways. Those secondary highways, even late at night, aren't always deserted, either. Don't worry about your fine, municipalities are starting to seize and crush street racing cars. I expect that trend to spread.

Q: Street racing?
Does anyone know the laws about street racing

A: If you want the absolute truth on the answer, check with the local police department or your state law books on-line. You can't go wrong.

Q: street-racing?
fun or dumb? i love cars and i love to work on them and race them i go to the track once in awhile but i love to street race .... on top of that i am in a car club *Flexspeed* _ *team hook it up* we run in baltimore maryland anyway what you think ?

A: Fun to do - but it is dumb

If you wreck your car your done.

I also race imports and muscle - street only.

I am fully aware that it is illegal and dangerous. Use the proper saftey gear, closed roads are cest, and make sure people stay back from the cars.

Q: What is a realistic street racing game on the ps3?
i want something realistic and that is a street racing game. Somethig where you race on open roads with traffic and lots of other realistic things. I am thinking NFS carbon or bunrout. Recomment others as well.

A: Midnight Club:Los Angeles is very good and so is NFS Carbon. Burnout paradise and NFS Undercover are also great. Gran Turismo 5 is very realistic, but it isn't a street racing game. You may also want to check out Ridge Racer 7, GRID, and DiRT.

Q: What is the consequences for street racing in illinois?
I don't want to hear how stupid it is, I really don't care. What happens to someone if they are pulled over for street racing in illinois.

A: Lot of police forces are starting to impound/destroy cars now for street race. I think in CA they impound your car and crush them at junk yard.

It's up to you. If you want to risk crushing your precious pretty pretty pink car.

Not as bad as killing somebody with your race car though.

Nothing like seeing car you worked on for many years get crushed. It was hilarious to see this guy in newspaper who just witnessed his race car get crushed like pancake.

Q: What are the penalties for street racing?
I have a friend who street races a lot, and I was wondering what the penalties for street racing are. We live in Washington state. Is it a misdemeanor or felony? Is it like a time in jail or just a fine?
Also, what are the penalties for burning out, like in a parking lot or stop light?

A: Im not sure what cops do in Washington
but in CA

you get
1. your car impounded
2. ticket for wreck-less driving
3. you have very expensive impound fees to get your car back
4. ticket for speeding
5. ticket for any modifications to you car.
6. ticket for in dangering the public
7. ticket for exhibition of speed.
8. possible jail time.
9. trying to pay for auto insurance is now going to really suck.
10. your license may be taken away.

A: American Muscle Car all the way.

Q: What are some good street racing games where you can customize your car and free roam?
What are the best street racing games?

A: need for speed
but i like Grid

Q: What kind of street racing really exists?
We have all seen the show 2 fast 2 furious, and other alike, so my question is, what kind of street racing truly exists? I know you got the punk kids in LA cruising around in the POS ricers, but is there really something like 2 fast 2 furious, or people in Lamborghini and Ferrari's racing around in different area of the USA?

A: I've seen it in New York (I was really young), Jersey, Reno NV, South Cal. All this info is from my experience, I am just one in millions of racers out there.

Hollywood really glamorizes it. They show beautiful cars lined up, from 1 grand cars that have 100 large in them, to 6 figure cars. Half naked models walking around, Ja rule's and Ludacris's walking about. Huge bets on the races. And adrenaline music coming out of the night.

In life, they usually meet around midnight on the weekends. Anywhere where there is no loidering laws or after hours laws. Somewhere where you won't get in trouble for just parking in their parking lot and chilling all night. Best Buy maybe.
A night can go anywhere from 20-200+ cars. Mostly ricers! (50% ricer, 30% mid to high end import, 10% muscle and SUV, 5% random spectators, 5% TOP end cars like vipers) Mostly young guys, age 25 and under. When they hit early 20's they usually go legit or just give it up. You spend a couple hours showing off cars and talking to each other. There are racing spots all over their town (mostly drag). You can set up a race before hand or do it on the spot. On spot races can start as simply as "Hey who's evo is this? Hey you wanna race?" The cars that are racing and a few spectating will go and race. Usually no bets are involved, mostly gas money if any. I've seen 1 grand at the most, and a couple times they bet their girlfriends!

If it's a big night, cars will line up diagonally on the outside and they will run races there for however long they want. They cut the roads off for safety. If someone sees an incognito cop, they yell it out and everyone scatters! that is the fun part haha.

A lot of the time, the cops will sit by the meeting spot (Best Buy, etc.) and wait for a few cars to leave it. They follow them to the race spot. If this happens, they send 5 or so LOUD cars out to lead the police away. This is a phony race, they usually just lead them on the other side of town where there is no racing action going on. If this works then the real racers will go out after them and have their fun.

Sorry it's so long. Any other questions?

Q: Argument against the fact that the Street Racing Law in Canada is unconstitutional?
I am taking grade 11 law and i have a very important debate. I am on the negative side (agaisnt) that the new street racing law is unconstitutional.
I have done my research but am still confused.
It seems that their is alot of information on the "for" side of the argument.
Basically what i need is about 10 strong arguments.
I need desperate help as i dont want to get crushed by my oponents.
And maybe a few counter-arguments to the ones they will probably say.

A: 1) Societies have basic responsibilities to all those within its boundaries, and one of those is public safety for everyone, whether they be citizens, visitors, on a work permit, a landed immigrant or even someone illegally in the country. Street Racing is a dangerous activity and therefore laws that are passed by any legislative body, provided they are within their authority, to maintain public safety cannot be unconstitutional, unless by enforcing the law there is a breech of rights that are protected by the Charter of Rights and Freedoms or any other applicable document.

2) A law can only be deemed unconstitutional if the courts have made a ruling on it. Since no such ruling has occurred, the proposition, in the strictest sense, cannot be true now, although it might be true in the future.

3) What rights are not being protected for those who wish to engage in such activities but are prohibited by the law? Obviously none, so how can a law that prohibits such activity be unconstitutional?

4) If the law is unconstitutional, then so are stop signs, speed limits, no parking zones, one way streets, etc. All these prohibitions are in place to protect public safety. Is not a law that prohibits a race on a public thoroughfare simply a method to maintain public safety?

5) Perhaps opponents might say that street racers have a right to engage in an activity which they enjoy and it should be permitted on this basis. However they are not prohibited from such activity. There are legitimate venues where cars can be raced in an environment that, although unsafe for those racing, is safe for anyone else who does not wish to be put at risk. Therefore their rights are not being breeched.

Good Luck!
